Below is a Facebook post from Kansas Wildlife & Parks–Game Wardens. For 2025, Fiocchi partnered with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation to increase the visibility of poaching incidents in an effort to reduce poaching.

On May 3, 2025, a cow elk was shot in southeast Geary County near the intersection of Humbolt Creek Rd and Zumbrum Rd. The elk was shot from the roadway and left to be wasted.
